Pre-Access to Higher Education

If you want to study for a Level 3 Access to Higher Education course to enable you to progress to university, but you're not quite ready for this level of study, the one-year part-time Level 2 Pre-Access to Higher Education course will improve your skills and enable you to move on to the course the following year.

The course is an excellent way of returning to education and will enable you to discover your potential in a supportive environment and help you to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence you need for the next stage of learning - whether that is the Access to HE course or another Level 3 qualification.

It is also a valuable qualification in its own right demonstrating to potential employers that you have returned to education and have a range of transferable skills.

The course is intensive and challenging and to succeed you will need to be committed, focused and have a zest for learning and good time management skills, especially if you work or have family responsibilities.

Before you embark on the course it is important that you know what you want to study at university, have thoroughly researched your chosen course, have attended university open days and can demonstrate knowledge and insight into your chosen field.
