English and Maths - City of Wolverhampton College

ENGLISH AND MATHS

Whether it’s reading a book or an online article, understanding and filling in forms, applying for jobs, helping children with their homework, working out a household budget, or checking your bank balance – having good English and maths skills is essential for every aspect of daily life.

VARIED COURSE OPTIONS

If you left school without an English or maths qualification, it’s not too late to learn! Whether you need to go back to basics and start from the beginning or build on what you already know and improve your grades, there’s a course suitable for you, whatever your level.

The options are varied and students will be placed to the best suited programme depending on results from your initial assessment.

Flexible LEARNING

Studying English and maths at college isn’t like being at school – our tutors make lessons interesting by using real-life examples to bring your learning to life, and they’ll help and encourage you to reach your full potential and provide any extra support you may need along the way.

What’s more, as your skills and abilities improve, your confidence will too which will have a positive impact on all areas of your life.

If you’re studying for a full-time course you’ll get the chance to do,  English and maths alongside your main qualification or, if you want to focus on just English or just maths, we offer a range of part-time courses held during the day or evening to enable you to fit studying around your other work and life commitments.

And we now also offer online courses, so you can study from home and save on travel costs too!

support from our ME hub

In addition to your lessons, we also have an English and Maths hub where you can drop in from Monday to Friday and get help and support with anything you’re struggling with. The hubs are staffed by specialist tutors and you will get the chance to get one-to-one support, join a small group, or just study independently, knowing that a tutor will be on hand to answer any queries you may have.
