The Performing Engineering Operations - Machining Level 2 qualification is ideally suited if you are working as a machinist or assembly operator within the engineering industry and forms part of the intermediate apprenticeship framework.
It provides an entry level qualification into engineering in which you will learn basic workshop skills, safe working practices and engineering communication, as well as practical skills in machining such as lathes, milling, bench fitting and assembly.
On completion of the course you will be able to progress to an advanced apprenticeship and a Level 3 qualification.

On this course you will study the following modules:
Working safely in an engineering environment
Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively
Using and communicating technical information
Producing components on a lathe
Producing components on a milling machine
Producing components using hand fitting techniques
By studying this course you will gain:

We have a state-of-the-art modern engineering workshop equipped with a range of industry-standard lathes, milling machines, pillar drill, bench fitting and CAD suites. This can then progress onto CNC and advanced machining.
Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to take part in a range of additional activities to enhance your learning such as industry visits, hearing from inspirational speakers and showcasing your talents in competitions such as the prestigious WorldSkills UK competition.
