The Principles of Care Planning TQUK Level 2 Certificate Study Mode: Part-time   |    Course Level:

Do you work in health and social care and are keen to learn more about the principles of care planning

This qualification will allow you to understand your role in supporting the preferences and needs of

individuals in relation to their care and support.  It will also enable you to develop and implement care plans, and contribute to the review of these by observing, monitoring and reporting on the care activities you are responsible for.

This qualification is suitable if you are looking to enter into, or progress within, employment in a variety of sectors and job roles where an understanding of care planning is required. 

On average, the course should only take 16 - 21 weeks to complete

Please note:

  • The course is funded so there is no cost to you as long as you complete the course
  • You must achieve the set targets and complete the course by the date given on our e-learning platform
  • If you fail to complete the course you will be required to pay £120* and will be required to sign an agreement to this before the start of the course.

*This is not the full cost of the course, but covers administrative costs.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however you must be over 19 years of age.

During this course you will study:

  • Understanding person-centred thinking and planning
  • Care planning for the care worker
  • Understanding nutrition and hydration in health and social care settings
  • Principles of supporting an individual to maintain personal hygiene
  • Understanding continence care
  • Principles of supporting sleep

By studying this course you will:

  • Develop your understanding of the principles of care planning
  • Learn how care planning works and why it is important
  • Develop an appreciation for care planning in a health and social care sector
  • Develop your confidence in dealing with service users with care needs
  • Understand how person-centred thinking and planning is applied in the health and social care industry

This is an online assessment-based course and there are no exams. You will be required to complete assessments via an online platform.  Your work will be assessed, and developmental feedback will be given by a tutor with relevant subject area experience.

  • Pursue a career in health and social care
  • Progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England
