Are you wanting to learn about understanding safe handling? Then this course is right for you! This course has been developed to enable you to grow your understanding the safe handling and with that knowledge take the next steps in your chosen career.

This qualification is ideal for anyone who works in the healthcare sector or anyone who wishes to work in this sector in the future. The qualification is also suitable for anyone who handles medication while in a caring role.

This course will allow employees to develop an understanding of the different types of medication and what they are used for. It will also cover how to store and dispose of medicines in a safe way, how to administer medicines safely and how to ensure that record keeping and audits are completed correctly.

No previous qualifications required.

During this course you will study:

  • Unit 1: Understand medication and prescriptions
  • Unit 2: Supply, storage and disposal of medication
  • Unit 3: Understand the requirements for the safe administration of medication
  • Unit 4: Record keeping and audit processes for medication

This is an online assessment-based course and there are no exams. You will be required to complete assessments via an online platform.  Your work will be assessed, and developmental feedback will be given by a tutor with relevant subject area experience.
