Dyspraxia Awareness Level 1 Award

This qualification has been developed to enable a wide range of learners to improve their knowledge and understanding of dyspraxia. It is suitable for professionals working with SEN learners as well as parents and carers of children or young people with dyspraxia. This course will be taught online.


There are no formal entry requirements, however to access this course you will need to:

  • Be aged 16 years old or above
  • Have Level 1 English
  • Commit to attend for the duration of the course

During this course you will:

  • Understand what is meant by 'dyspraxia'
  • Learn how dyspraxia can affect an individual
  • Learn about ways to support the learning of individuals with dyspraxia

By studying this course you will be able to develop strategies to support individuals with dyspraxia.

You will be assessed by creating a portfolio of evidence, there are no exams.

The skills you will learn from this course will enable you to develop in an existing role, such as a teaching assistant or learning support practitioner, or help learners prepare to take on such a role. After you have successfully completed this course you can progress on to another one of our special needs short courses, Level 2 Award in Teaching Assistants or use this as a CPD opportunity.
