If you have the potential to disturb asbestos containing materials (ACM), eg. caretakers, plumbers, maintenance engineers, painters and decorators, construction workers etc then you should undertake this course.

Candidates do not require any formal entry requirements

During this short course you will learn about:

  • the dangers of asbestos
  • the relevant legislation relating to asbestos and its desposal
  • the health problems associated with asbestos
  • where it can be found

Units covered by the course:

  • What is asbestos
  • How and where it was used
  • How it can harm us
  • What does the law say
  • Who is at risk
  • Working safely with asbestos

You will be assessed by a short multiple choice test - on satisfactory completion you will be awarded an UKATA Asbestos Awareness certificate
