On this course you will learn the basics of business innovation and sustainability.

On this course you’ll learn philosophy and procedures of reducing waste time in manufacturing.  Candidates will learn how to cut down on time through both theory and practical exercises which can be applied to normal work environments.

The course is designed to help staff to cut down on waste time in manufacturing environments. We highly recommend this course for:

  • Anyone who makes an input to a company’s product change procedure, i.e. setters, operators…etc.

You will learn:

  • The techniques that can be used to identify and then remove waste time in manufacturing environments.
  •  Reduction exercises to become familiar with the paperwork involved.
  • How Business improvement techniques work in real life.
  • How SMED works and how it can be used.
  • Why long set-up times can be bad.
  • What it means for there to be a change in manufacturing?
  • How to use a standard format for documentation when you do analytical studies.
  • How to look for ways to save time.
  • How to spot techniques used in real-life situations.
  • What commercially available tools can help with the process.
  • How to Manage SMED projects in their own workplaces.

Prerequisites – This course is designed for those who work in manufacturing and has an interest in improving productivity and cutting down on waste time. This course is based on improvement techniques used to improve injection moulding processes, but is highly adaptable to other manufacturing areas.
