A West Midlands actor who appeared in the 2024 hit movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be joining students at City of Wolverhampton College for their end-of-term Christmas concert.
Rupi Lal, aged 42 from West Bromwich, who played the role of Astrid’s doctor in the film, will be guest of honour at the concert featuring students from the college’s Futures Foundation Learning programme on Monday, 16 December.
The concert – at the Wellington Road campus, in Bilston – will include a host of popular Christmas classics sung and Makaton-signed by Futures students with staff and students from other courses invited to join in the festive fun.
Rupi, who also appeared in the BBC One series Doctors and the BBC Three and Netflix co-produced drama Red Rose, which is currently available on the streaming channel, said: ” I was very proud when the college asked me to be guest of honour at the concert and I can’t wait to join in the Christmas fun with everyone!”
The Futures Foundation Learning programme is aimed at young people with inclusion needs and/or an education health and care plan and aims to enhance their life skills and develop their abilities to help them move towards living as independently as possible.
