Lucky-Primrose Cambridge joined the Level 3 Art and Design course at City of Wolverhampton College after leaving a budding career in Law to follow her true creative calling. Her time on the course has opened up a world of new skills and artistic exploration and she has now secured a place studying Fine Art as Central Saint Martins—one of the most prestigious arts institutions in the UK.
Lucky-Primrose said: “Before starting my course, I was more inclined to work in 2D, traditional art techniques. But being surrounded by specialist equipment and facilities has exposed me to so much more—printing techniques, clay, and digital programs like Photoshop. I even learned how to use a sewing machine, which had always been an aspiration. I now trust my artistic voice. Before college, I felt like a lawyer-imposter who just happened to draw. Now, I confidently see myself as a creative.
“I’m really looking forward to starting university—especially for the creative freedom, exceptional tutoring, and valuable industry connections. And, if I’m honest, I’m also excited to share a campus with the fashion students! Watching their theatrical outfits will definitely be a fun source of inspiration.”
“The college has been incredibly supportive, and I would have been completely lost without my tutor. They helped me with my UCAS application and even gave me a mock interview, where I received thoughtful, constructive feedback that really boosted my confidence for the real thing.”
“If you have any artistic inclination at all, however small, I think it’s vital to nurture it. The world has too many lawyers. Do what brings you joy.”
