Returning to City of Wolverhampton College after completing a national tour with the musical SIX, Nicole Lewis is now sharing her experience through a series of workshops for aspiring performers.

Nicole said: “I returned to the college to run a SIX inspired workshop where I was teaching movement and songs from the show. It was great to return to where my journey started, especially after finishing the tour of SIX.”

SIX the musical is about Henry VIII’s six wives, but it’s told from the women’s perspective. Traditionally, history focuses on the man’s point of view, but this show shines a light on the female side of the story. It’s a high-energy show, around an hour and 20 minutes of non-stop singing, dancing, and acting. It really connects with audiences worldwide.”

Talking about her experience at City of Wolverhampton College, Nicole said: “The Performing Arts course helped me massively. I learned how to break down scenes, songs, and dialogue, and how to act through songs. I also had lead roles while I was here, which prepared me for the responsibility of carrying a show. It taught me how to work both as part of a team and as a lead performer.”

“My advice for anyone thinking of studying Performing Arts is just do it! Believe in yourself, you’re the only person who can stop you. If you want it, go for it and don’t hold back.”

After finishing her tour of SIX, with over 300 performances across multiple countries, Nicole is now starting rehearsals for Pinocchio at Stratford East in London.
