Young people who are due to finish school in the summer and are unsure about their next steps can find out about courses and qualifications on offer at City of Wolverhampton College at an open day this Saturday, 11 January.
Continuing to study after GCSEs doesn’t mean having to stop on at school – the college offers alternative options for students of all levels and abilities, including career-focused vocational courses, apprenticeships and A Levels in a range of subjects.
Also on offer are new two-year T Level qualifications – in carpentry, construction management, digital support, early years, electrical, engineering and health – which are the equivalent of three A levels and include an in-depth industry work placement.
On arrival at the event, visitors will hear about college life from members of the Students’ Union before speaking to tutors about the best course for their future career, touring the campus facilities and taking part in activities relating to the subject they are interested in.
Those attending can also get the latest news on the college’s campus transformation project which saw the opening of a new Advanced Technology and Automotive Centre at the Wellington Road campus in September and a new city centre campus – currently under construction as part of City of Wolverhampton Council’s City Learning Quarter masterplan – which is due to open in the 2025/26 academic year.
The open day will run from 10am to 2pm at the Paget Road campus, in Compton, and the Wellington Road campus, in Bilston. Book a place at www.wolvcoll.ac.uk/open-events/
