Performing arts students at City of Wolverhampton College will be taking to the stage and wowing the audience with their talents in their end-of-year spectacular later this month.

Around 30 students, who are studying for University of the Arts London diplomas and extended diplomas in performing arts, will be appearing in ‘All that Jazz’ at the college’s Paget Road campus from Wednesday June 26 until Friday June 28.

The show is set in a blues and jazz club in 1920’s America and features acting, singing and dancing in the style made famous by choreographer Bob Fosse.

Students have been rehearsing for the show since the start of the summer term and, as part of thier final course project, have developed dance routines, designed the set, sourced costumes and researched what life was like in the country during the era.

Tanya Long, performing arts tutor at the college, said: “The end-of-year show is an opportunity for students to use the skills they’ve learnt on their course to put on a spectacular performance and for the audience to enjoy an entertaining evening of song, dance and musical theatre.”

The show takes place at 2.30pm and 7pm each day and tickets, costing £5, or £4 for concessionsare available on the door or in advance from the Paget Road campus.

The college’s creative arts department, named Training Provider of the Year at the 2019 Creative and Cultural Skills Awards, is currently holding auditions for performing arts courses starting in September – find out more here or if you want to chat to a tutor call Tel: 01902 836000
