STUDENTS TAKE CENTRE STAGE AT END OF YEAR CEREMONIES

1st July 2019

The achievements and successes of hundreds of students at City of Wolverhampton College will be celebrated at three presentation ceremonies at Wolverhampton Racecourse this Friday.

Around 350 students who have completed full-time courses, as well as over 50 studying for higher education qualifications, will be attending the annual event, along with their friends and family, on 5 July.

The full-time students will receive certificates of achievement to mark the end of their course, and Student of the Year awards will be presented to those who have excelled in individual subject areas. Meanwhile, students completing higher education HNCs, HNDs and foundation degrees will don caps and gowns and be presented with framed certificates by college principal Mal Cowgill.

Mal said: “We are coming to the end of yet another successful academic year at the college and the awards are an opportunity for us to congratulate students on their dedication and commitment to learning.

“Many of our students will either be coming back to college in September to progress to the next level of study, heading off to university or moving into jobs or apprenticeships, whilst our higher education graduates will be using the skills they have learnt on their courses to enhance their career prospects in the future.”

The ceremonies will also see performing arts students take to the stage with a showcase of song and dance routines from their end-of-term production All that Jazz.

The college is currently recruiting for courses starting in September – for details and to apply go to www.wolvcoll.ac.uk or call 01902 836000.
