TASTES OF THE WORLD ON MENU AT COLLEGE RESTAURANT

15th January 2020

Popular themed evenings organised by catering students at City of Wolverhampton College get underway next week with a Burns Night supper on Thursday, 23 January.

Students studying for diplomas in professional cookery and food and beverage service will be cooking up a traditional Scottish three-course meal in the college’s Academy restaurant at the Metro One campus in the city centre.

Dishes on the menu include cullen skink, haggis, neeps and tatties, mushrooms topped with Mull of Kintrye cheese, roast guinea fowl in a whisky sauce, beef braised in Guinness, raspberry and cranachan trifle, and Scottish shortbread tarts.

Students will be hosting further themed meals on Thursday evenings with a French feast on January 30, Asian Fusion on February 6, Valentine’s meal on February 13, Greek Delights on February 27, St Patrick’s Day supper on March 12 and a St George’s Day celebration on April 23.

The popular 42-seater restaurant is also open for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays and has a fully licensed bar and a large viewing window so diners can watch trainee chefs at work in the kitchen.

The themed meals cost £16.50 per head and tables must be booked in advance by calling 01902 821344.

The college is currently recruiting for catering and hospitality courses starting in September – find more information here or Tel: 01902 836000.
