Ukulele tunes on menu at City of Wolverhampton College restaurant

Trainee chefs will be cooking to the sound of ukuleles when a group of strummers take over the Academy restaurant at City of Wolverhampton College next week.  

Wolverhampton ukulele band The Ukeing Wolves – a group of players aged 17 to 70 – are holding their annual anniversary meal at the city centre restaurant on Thursday 21 March. 

The group will be tucking in to a three-course meal prepared and served by students studying for cookery and hospitality qualifications and will be playing a selection of pop, blues, soul and traditional ukulele music during the evening. 

Elizabeth Leehospitality tutor at the college, said: “This is the fourth time the group have joined us in the restaurant and it promises to be another entertaining evening of lively music performed by the diners and delicious food prepared by our students.” 

The 48-seater fully licensed restaurant is open to the public for lunch on Wednesday and Thursdays and for dinner on Thursday evenings and tables can be booked by callingTel: 01902 821341   

The Ukeing Wolves meet every week and perform at fetes, shows, beer festivals and private functions to raise money for local charities. Anyone interested in joining the group or booking it for an event can contact leaders Sue and Joy at
