Young people who have applied to study at City of Wolverhampton College from September can get an early taste of student life at a welcome event next month.

The college is hosting a Discovery Day at its three campuses on Wednesday 3 July to enable students to meet their tutors and new classmates, see their classrooms and have a go at some of the activities they will be doing on their course.

During the day visitors will also get the chance to tuck in to free pizza, chips and drinks in the college canteen, see the wide range of resources available in the Study Hub, and meet staff in the Student Hub who can give advice on careers, financial support and travel passes.

Rose Urkovskis, head of student engagement at the college, said: “We’re really looking forward to meeting our new students and showing them the teaching, study and leisure facilities that they will benefit from when studying here, as well as giving them the opportunity to meet their tutors and new classmates before they start with us in September.”

The event, which runs from 10.30am to 1.30pm, is also open to parents and carers who would like to see where their children will be studying, as well as young people who haven’t yet applied for a course but would like to find out about qualifications on offer.
