Plumbing C&G Level 1 Diploma

Learning basic plumbing skills will prepare you for a great career in a growing industry so if you're aged 16-19 and want a career as a Plumber, look no further!

Every household or business needs to call on a plumber for help from time to time to install or repair the maze of pipework, tubing and fixtures that deliver drinking water, provide heating, and remove waste.

The course gives you the basic knowledge and skills in plumbing and heating mechanical services areas.

To be able to continue on the Level 1 course you will need to have good attendance and show a good attitude to learning, as well as complete a health and safety assignment set by tutors.

Also, if you earn less than £30,000 per year and aged 19 or over, you could study this course for FREE!

What are the entry requirements?

To access this course you are required to:

  • Have three or more GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English, and maths at grade 4 or above
  • Attend an interview with a member of the college's admissions team 
  • Complete a short online assessment to assess your current skills and knowledge 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to good attendance, punctuality and to learning and achieving your qualification

Applications from adults without the necessary qualifications, but with relevant industry/work experience, will be considered on an individual basis.

  • Plumbing science
  • Installation, repair and maintenance of Plumbing Systems
  • Site preparation for working in the Construction Industry
  • Health and safety
  • Individual modules on Above Ground Drainage, Copper Pipe, Plastic Pressure Pipe and Low Carbon Steel
