Why should you choose us?

Take a look at some of the ways we can help you define you future…

Great student feedback – look at what our higher education students said in a recent survey…

  • 98% agree that tutors have high expectations and challenge them to do their best
  • 98% agree that they receive feedback to show how they can improve
  • 97% say they are proud to be our students
  • 96% would recommend the college to friends

Stay local – our two main campuses – Paget Road in Compton and Wellington Road in Bilston –have great transport links via train, metro and bus, enabling you to study close to home, fit studying around your other commitments and save money on university accommodation.

Cost-effective – studying for university level qualification at college costs significantly less than going to university.

What’s more, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of your course and you won’t have to start paying it back until you’re earning over £27,295 per year.

Fast-track – depending on the course you choose to study at college you may be able to complete a one-year ‘top-up’ course at university, leading to a full degree*

*Please check whether this option is available for your chosen higher education qualification – details can be found on the relevant course page

Flexible – we offer a range of higher education study options – some qualifications are full-time whilst others are offered on a part-time basis, with daytime and evening sessions, to enable you to fit studying around your personal or work commitments.

Career-focussed  whether you choose a university level qualification to get into the career of your choice, or are already working in the sector and want to improve your employment prospects, our courses will equip you with the skills and knowledge employers are looking and wills set you apart from the rest when you are applying for jobs in the future.

Dedicated – throughout your higher education course you’ll have a dedicated personal tutor who will encourage and motivate you, ensure you are on-track and meeting your deadlines, and that you get the most out of your course, achieve your qualification and progress to further learning or employment.

Well-connected – we’re proud of our strong links with hundreds of local and national employers and leading universities so we know the skills they are looking for and ensure our courses are always up-to-date and that you will develop the professional and academic knowledge you need to progress to further qualifications or employment.

Industry-standard – our campuses are equipped with industry-standard equipment and training facilities so you will learn your skills on the same sort of kit that you will encounter in the workplace and gain hands-on experience, rather than just sitting in a lecture theatre every day.

Helpful – whatever you need, we’re here to help! As well as talking to tutors, you can get information and advice on all aspects of college life in the Student Hubs, help with research, assignments and revising in the Study Hubs, advice on the best routes into your chosen career from our dedicated careers team, and support with anything that may be concerning you from our trained counsellors and safeguarding team.

#DefineYourFuture –   we’ll give you the freedom to be creative and the knowledge and experience to achieve your personal, academic and career ambitions.

Want to talk? –  if you’re unsure about the best qualification for you, come and have a chat to tutors at one of our open events held throughout the year, make an appointment with a careers adviser, or call in at either of our campuses for a chat with a member of staff from the Student Hub.
