Performing arts students at City of Wolverhampton College will be transforming into an eccentric family clan and showcasing their skills in an end-of-year spectacular next week.

The talented students, who are studying for University of the Arts London Level 2 awards and Level 3 diplomas and extended diplomas in performing and production arts, will be appearing in the The Addams Family school edition at the college’s Paget Road campus from Wednesday June 25 until Friday June 27.

The dark comedy centres on an eccentric family which finds joy in all things creepy and features the well-known characters of elegant Morticia Addams, mischievous Wednesday, oddball Uncle Fester and butler Lurch.

The show forms part of the students’ final course project and they have been working on the production since the start of the summer term analysing scripts, creating scenes and musical numbers, designing the set and sourcing costumes, as well as working with students studying for qualifications in music technology on technical aspects of the production.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets priced at £8 or £6.50 for concessions are available to purchase on the door or by contacting gavinr@wolvcoll.ac.uk

The college is currently holding auditions for performing arts courses starting in September – for more information here or ring 01902 836000.
