Aseela Wahidi completed the Skills for Success course at City of Wolverhampton College. She began with the Skill Up introductory short course at Central Library, which helped her rebuild confidence and re‑engage with learning after time away from education. She then progressed onto the Shaping Success programme at the CLQ campus and is now taking her next step onto English Functional Skills.
Reflecting on her experience, Aseela said:
“I really like this course. The teacher was fantastic and taught us lots of positive things to help us reach our goals. The most important thing I learned was to believe in myself and improve my mindset.”
“I feel much more confident now, especially in my daily life, such as shopping on a budget and comparing prices. It’s helped me feel more capable and independent. This course has also helped me a lot with my future goals. It has prepared me for my Functional Skills course and made me feel ready to move forward.”
“I would definitely recommend Skills for Success especially for anyone who wants to work. You learn lots of useful employment skills, and it really helps build your confidence.”
