Sayyed Ali joined the West Midlands Metro Into Employment course after looking for new career opportunities. Having previously trained as both a lorry driver and taxi driver, he saw the course as a chance to transfer his skills into a new industry. Sayyed said:
“I joined the course to explore a new career path. The training gave me a good introduction to the tram sector, including health and safety, customer service and interview preparation.
“One of the most useful parts of the course was the AI body swap interview simulation. It helped improve my interview skills and made me more aware of things like using too many filler words.
“My goal is to secure employment with Midlands Metro and eventually progress to becoming a tram driving instructor.
“This course has shown me how my existing skills can be transferred into a different sector and opened up new opportunities for the future.
“My advice to future learners is to just explore. Education broadens your horizon and can open doors you may not have considered before.”
