Meet the Employer Engagement & Business Development Team

Daniel Degg

Head of Employer Engagement & Business Development

Daniel joined the college in December 2021 and his role is to maximise the college’s employer-facing activities including apprenticeship recruitment, work experience and other work-based learning solutions to help broaden opportunities for young people and the wider workforce across the region.

Daniel has experience leading employer engagement teams in FE colleges, higher education institutes and local government organisations, as well as developing skills solutions to meet the needs of the local business community and local and regional priorities, along with implementing strategies to raise the profile of providers.

He has particular expertise in work-based learning (including apprenticeships) and is a registered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD).

About the Team

The college has a dedicated Employer Engagement & Business Development Team to advise and support employers through every step of the apprenticeship journey.

The industry sector leads work with employers, apprentices, curriculum areas and course assessors to develop bespoke training programmes to meet the needs of individual companies and their learners; account managers work with employers to discuss employers’ specific requirements and set up individual apprenticeship programmes; and the recruitment team assist with advertising apprenticeship vacancies, screening applicants and shortlisting candidates for interview.
