What will I learn?

How to research, plan and develop fashion‑forward hairstyle concepts.
Principles behind creative collections, trend analysis and using media to present work.
Advanced cutting, sectioning, styling and finishing theory.
How to assess hair type and condition for complex looks.
The science, safety and legal requirements behind smoothing and strengthening services.
Knowledge of colour conversion techniques, products, aftercare and correction methods.
How influencing factors such as hair condition, scalp health and product choice affect results.

Ability to design and create a full collection of creative and precision hairstyles.
Advanced cutting, colouring, smoothing and strengthening techniques.
Confidence carrying out complex consultations and analysing hair and scalp conditions.
Skills in personalised sectioning, blending, toning and corrective colour work.

Ability to evaluate finished looks and present collections professionally.

How will I be assessed?

Once all on-programme assessments are complete, along with English and maths functional skills, learners will be able to go through the gateway and prepare for the end point assessment. This is a five-hour practical assessment along with oral questions assessed by an independent assessor.
