This course will run on a Thursday evening: 5.00pm – 9.00pm for 9 weeks.

Course details
Entry Requirements:
To access this course you are required to:
- Have a level 1 or above qualification in English and maths
- Successfully completed a Level 1 or 2 hairdressing qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Experience within the hairdressing industry
- Health & safety qualification (including Unit 202) or working towards &/or industry experience (voluntary or paid employment)
- Undertake a salon skills session in which you will be required to meet members of the teaching team and a carry out a practical test
What will I learn?
During this course you will study the following learning outcomes:
- Understanding the essential health and safety practices when fitting hair extensions
- Be able to prepare for hair extension services
- Be able to attach and remove hair extensions
What skills will I gain?
You will gain skills in installing and removing hair extension to enable you to take a client on a journey from enquiry, to carrying out a range of hair extension techniques to removal and maintenance services.
By studying this course you will:
- Develop skills in consultation in preparation for hair extensions
- Develop your confidence in dealing with a wide range of clients
- Understand how a variation of hair extension techniques create a variation of looks suited to client needs.
- Develop your understanding of the health and safety requirements when using hair extensions
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed throughout the course in the following ways:
- Practical observations
- Providing services on a client to demonstrate skills
- Online exams – multiple choice
- Written & online task
What can I do next?
Upon completion you will have developed your skills and expertise to enable you to:
- Offer services in a salon or mobile
- Pursue a hairdressing apprenticeship
- Progress to a Level 2 hairdressing and barbering qualification
- Develop your client base further
