Is this course right for me?

Are you passionate about your vocation and passing your skills and expertise on to others?

Thinking about a career in teaching post-compulsory education or training?

If the answer is ‘yes’ the Certificate in Education/Professional Graduate Certificate in Education – run by the college in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton – is right for you!

The programme is a two year course designed for lecturers/trainers/teachers already working in the education sector and provides a benchmark of a professional accreditation for people intending to carry out teaching in a post-compulsory education setting (PCE).

The course has a mandatory teaching practice requirement which must be completed in a ‘full’ teaching role If you are not in paid employment, you will need to make your own arrangements for gaining suitable teaching practice in the post-compulsory education sector.

We have high success rates on this course and excellent feedback from our past students many of whom have gone on to take up posts as lecturers in sport, hairdressing, IT, horticulture, engineering and construction.

Whilst you are on the course there will be opportunities to enhance your learning by listening to guest speakers and visiting the University of Wolverhampton to participate in talks and activities offered through CRADLE – the Centre for Research and Development in Lifelong Education.

CRADLE offers curriculum development, continuing professional development (CPD) and consultancy services, as well as undertakes research of national significance for the lifelong learning sector – for more information go to the CRADLE page on the University of Wolverhampton website.
