July 2024

Build complete! The college’s new Advanced Technology and Automotive Centre was officially handed over by contractor Speller Metcalfe at the end of July, following an 11-month build.

May – June 2024

Progress continues to be made on the Centre with windows, signage and doors nearing install.

April 2024

Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands visited to see the build progress of The Advanced Technology and Automotive Centre. He also took the opportunity to chat to our automotive and engineering students about how the new state-of-the-art training facilities will equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to work in their chosen industries.

November 2023

Timelapse footage is here! Over the last few months Contractors Speller Metcalfe have collected footage showing the progess of ATAC from the piling around the mineshaft in July 2023 to the completion of the steel frame on the 31 October.

October 2023

Work has begun to erect the steel framework on a new £8.1 million City of Wolverhampton College training facility as part of the City Learning Quarter vision.

Contractors Speller Metcalfe have completed the piling and foundation works and once the steel framework is installed, the ground and first floor slabs will be poured, block work for the external walls will be laid, the building will be clad, and the roof installed to make it watertight.

September 2023

August 2023

Ground works start! Ground works have officially commenced marking the start of the construction of our Advanced Technology and Automotive Centre.
