Futures

The Futures Programme is aimed at young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and/or an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and is tailored to their individual requirements.

Before starting college staff from the SEND team will meet with the young person and their parents/carers to assess their current level of ability, discuss their learning needs and hopes for the future and then set up their individual educational package.

There are three specialised programmes and which one will be best for the young person in question will be discussed at the initial meeting. The aim is to enhance their life skills and develop their abilities to help them move towards living as independently as possible.

We offer Learning Support Needs for:

  • Young people with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Parents/carers of a young person with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Professionals working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities
