“Growing up it was always my dream to be a journalist,” said 23-year-old Morgan Johnson who has achieved that dream and is now working as a news reporter on The Sun.

Morgan, who completed the Journalism NCTJ Level 5 diploma in June 2021, added: “The course gave me the tools and knowledge I needed to be able to go straight into being a reporter.

“The modules we studied covered everything we needed, including shorthand which you definitely need and, with the tutor’s help, I achieved 100 words per minute.

“Everything I learnt gave me the confidence to go into a journalist role and I don’t think there’s anything I’ve come across in my job that I didn’t understand, for example court laws.

“I qualified as gold standard in June 2021 and got my first job with Reach Plc, working for Coventry Live. I was there for 13 months and have recently joined The Sun as a news reporter – my dream was always to work for a national newspaper so I just want to continue learning and growing and just see where life takes me.”
