Police Cadets (13-17 year olds)

Interested in joining the West Midlands Volunteer Police Cadet Scheme as a Cadet? West Midlands Police Cadets are aged between 13-17 years old and come from a variety of different backgrounds, lifestyles, religions and cultures.

The Cadet Scheme provides young people with opportunities to develop their skills, better their understanding of policing and become active citizens within their communities.

Cadets meet weekly, during term time, for 2 hours usually on an evening; as well as attending local events on weekends and in school holidays.

Cadet Leaders scheme (18+)

Can you give some of your own time volunteering as a unit leader? Our cadets need inspirational role models like you.

The Cadet Scheme provides young people over the age of 18 with opportunities to develop their skills, better their understanding of Policing, and become active citizens within their communities, alongside attending and supporting local events. Training and uniform is provided with no cost implication for the volunteer.

Other benefits include:

• Be a role model for our 500 cadets in 24 Units force wide

• Rewarding opportunity and supports personal development

• Everyone has something unique to offer for our cadets

• Staff can claim half of their volunteer time back (max of 8 hours per month)
