Need extra help with your studies?
We can support you!
What is Additional Learning Support?
We want every student to be successful in their studies and achieve their potential.
During your course you will receive support from your tutors who will have planned your sessions to meet your needs.
Sometimes you may feel you need extra support with assignments or organising your time. The Study Hub offers out of class support which you can access throughout your studies just visit the team and ask for the help you need.
If you have a recognised support need or an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) it may be that you can access support in class. This specialised support can be provided by the SEND and Inclusion team allocating a Student Support Worker with specific skills to help you by providing a range of methods to help you succeed.
We can support you in your studies if you have a specific learning difficulty e.g. dyslexia or a physical/sensory disability, which may or may not be temporary. Also, if you feel you are struggling with your literacy, numeracy or language skills we can talk through your concerns and find a way to help.
How do I apply for support?
If you make an application for a course during you interview you will have the opportunity to give details of your support requirements If you prefer you can email the SEND and Inclusion Team at firstname.lastname@example.org and leave your contact details. Someone from the Team will contact you to collate more information and to assess if your needs can be met.
We believe that everyone should be able to gain access to the college and have the opportunity to learn effectively, to the best of their ability, to enable them to successfully complete their studies. We will make reasonable adjustments where we can unfortunately on occasions not all needs can be met to give an enriched experience for the individual.
