Young people who are due to leave school in the summer, and adults who want to improve their skills and job prospects, can sign up for courses at City of Wolverhampton College at an open day on Saturday, 17 June.

The college’s campuses at Paget Road, in Compton, and Wellington Road, in Bilston, will be open from 10am to 2pm, for people to enrol for full-time, part-time and higher education qualifications, as well as find out about apprenticeships with local employers.

People can get information on new T Level qualifications – in onsite construction carpentry and joinery, digital support services and healthcare science – which are equivalent to three A Levels and focus on the development of vocational skills and include an in-depth industry placement as part of the course.

Those attending the event can talk to tutors about the wide range of courses available, tour the campus facilities, take part in activities related to the subject they are interested in studying, and chat to current students about college life.

Anyone unsure of the best course for their chosen career can speak to a member of the college’s advice and guidance team, and staff will be on-hand with information on financial support available to help with course fees and other college costs.
