Teaching Assistant student Francesco Raffagli

“I want a career in something I enjoy – and that’s education,” says 25-year-old Francesco Raffagli who is studying for the part-time teaching assistant Level 2 certificate.

As part of his course Francesco is spending one day on a work placement at a local primary school and enjoying every minute!

He added: “I love it! I love the children and teachers and they love me – it’s a very happy environment to be in.

“Doing the placement has made me realise that what we’re learning specific things for a reason, and I can use the skills I’ve gained at college – such as behaviour management – in the classroom, and use my practical experience to help with my assignments.

After completing the Level 2 qualification Francesco intends to progress to Level 3 and then apply to university to train as a teacher.
