Darren Shaw

Darren is the Deputy Director for Change Implementation at the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE). He leads a number of areas in this role, including the external quality assurance of end point assessment.

Darren has worked in primary, secondary, post-compulsory and vocational education for over 20 years. He started his career as a secondary science teacher and teacher-trainer. He then moved into government, where he helped awarding organisations produce academic and vocational qualifications. He was also responsible for producing national science qualifications for primary age children.

More recently, while working at IfATE, Darren led on apprenticeship assessment matters, including for degree apprenticeships.

Darren joined the Board of Governors in July 2023.
