After moving to the UK from Ukraine and being unemployed for six months, 33-year-old Oleksandr Yevdokymov signed-up for the free Level 1 Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness course, delivered at the college’s electric vehicle training centre, in Wednesfield.

Oleksandr said: “I decided to start the Level 1 course to enable me to look for jobs in the care repair sector but, as I had a basic automotive qualification, I was able to move on to the Level 2 course which I found really interesting and rewarding.

“As part of the course, I had an interview with an employer and, although I didn’t get the job, I was given the opportunity to do a month’s work trial and a local garage and, after completing it, I was offered a full-time job as a trainee mechanic.

“I wouldn’t have been able to find this job without the support of the instructors and staff at Bentley Bridge so thank you so much for all your help and guidance.”
