Amelie Bartlett

Course: Art and Design Level 3

Amelie is studying Level 3 Art and Design at City of Wolverhampton College. Exploring new creative mediums and developing her artistic confidence, she has grown significantly since starting the programme.

“Since beginning the course, I’ve worked with clay, explored different printmaking techniques, and used a range of new design programs that I’d never tried before. Getting hands‑on with so many materials and digital tools has helped me broaden my practice and experiment more.

“I’ve definitely become more confident and feel more accomplished as an artist. Working in different mediums has pushed me to try new things and develop skills I didn’t have before.

“In the future, I hope to study Illustration at university. This course has really helped me prepare for that by introducing me to Photoshop and other graphic design software that will be important for my degree.

“The new City Learning Quarter Camous is great, it has a lot more space and more facilities, giving us even greater opportunities to create and collaborate. Being in the city centre also helps make it a real creative hub for students.

“I enjoy coming to college, it feels completely different from school, in a good way. If someone isn’t sure whether to choose college, I’d definitely recommend it. It helps you grow as a person, boosts your confidence and skills, and makes the whole creative journey much easier.”
