Bo Nyabally

Course: NIS Gateway to Rail

Bo Nyabally has spent 15 years in the UK facing restrictions that prevented him from working legally — but now, he’s ready to make up for lost time. Originally from The Gambia, Bo moved to England with hopes of building a stable life, but immigration hurdles left him in limbo for years, relying on temporary arrangements and constantly moving with his young family.

“Until last November, I didn’t have proper status. I was living in a hotel with my wife and four children — all under nine — and trying to stay hopeful. Once I got my documents, I knew I had to get to work quickly, not just any job, but something stable.”

“With past experience in admin and a recent stint in metal recycling, I knew I wanted to retrain. Through a local charity, I discovered the NIS Group construction course and haven’t looked back since.”

“I’d done some basic health and safety before, but this course took it further. We’re learning proper site safety, working at heights — all things that make me more confident and employable.”

“The NIS Group trainers are very good people — open, helpful. Whatever you ask, they take the time to explain. You feel supported.”

“Now based in West Bromwich, I’m focused on securing consistent construction work so I can give my children the stability they deserve. After everything, I just want to work hard and provide for my family the right way. This course is helping me do that.”
