At 35 years old, Gleice Panozo returned to education to strengthen the essential English and maths skills she needed for further study, employment, and everyday life. After successfully completing Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and progressing through Level 2 English, she has gained confidence, academic skills, and a clear pathway toward her goal of a career in accounting.
“Throughout these courses, I have learned how to communicate more effectively, improve my reading and writing skills, and develop stronger problem‑solving and numeracy abilities. The course has helped me become more confident in understanding instructions, completing written tasks, and managing calculations in real‑life situations.”
“Since starting college, I believe I have hugely developed both academically and personally. I changed from someone who did not have the essential writing, speaking, listening and maths skills to someone employable, accepted onto an Accounting course, and with dreams to thrive in this career. I am confident in my abilities and more comfortable working independently as well as in group activities.”
“The best parts of studying this course have been the supportive and kind teachers, the practical learning activities, and the opportunity to improve skills that are essential in daily life and the workplace.”
“My plans for the future include continuing my education in accounting and progressing into further study or employment. Completing the Level 2 Functional Skills courses has improved my qualifications, increased my confidence, and enhanced my employability.”
“To anyone thinking about coming to the college, I would strongly encourage them to do so — even if they think it’s too late to start or worry they won’t fit in. The college will keep changing lives as it changed mine. It provides a supportive learning environment, capable staff, and valuable courses that help students grow personally and professionally.”
