Peace Alegbe is studying Engineering at City of Wolverhampton College on the T Level programme—a technical qualification designed for students who want a practical, career‑focused route into the engineering industry. Peace said:
“T Levels are a great option because they focus heavily on practical learning. We get to develop real technical skills that employers look for, like how to use the lathe, milling machine, laser cutter and other essential workshop tools. I’ve always enjoyed drawing, problem‑solving and creative thinking, so engineering feels like the right path for me. This course is helping me build the skills and confidence I need for my future career.
“My plan is to become a manufacturing engineer. This course is giving me the practical experience and foundational knowledge that I’ll need to progress onto university, hopefully studying for a bachelor’s degree and then a master’s. The skills I’m learning now are the essential building blocks for that journey.
“One of the best parts of the T Level is the fully equipped workshop. We have access to modern machines like the CNC router, milling machines, laser cutter and many others. Using this equipment helps me understand real industry processes and develop abilities that will be valuable in any engineering job.
“If someone is thinking about studying engineering at the college, I’d say they should definitely give it a try. T Levels are a great route into the industry, and the college really supports you. The teachers are always willing to help, no matter what questions you have, and they motivate us to apply what we learn to real‑world scenarios. It’s a brilliant place to start your engineering career.”
