At 49 years old, Robin enrolled on the evening plastering course at City of Wolverhampton College to gain practical skills for a personal renovation project — and ended up using those skills to help others too.
“I wanted to learn how to plaster properly so I could undertake a renovation project. Before the course, I’d only used premixed plaster for small repairs, so learning the right techniques was something I really wanted to do.
“Since completing the course, I’ve finished my renovation work and I’m really happy with the high-quality finish I achieved thanks to the skills I learned. I’ve even gone on to help a charity with some plastering work and plan to support more people on a voluntary basis next year.
“I would highly recommend the Wolverhampton College plastering course. The tutor engagement was excellent, and the pace and level of detail were perfect for a complete beginner. The environment was supportive, and the tutor was approachable and knowledgeable. It’s a great course for anyone who wants to learn a practical skill that can make a real difference.”
