However, we would love to welcome you to City of Wolverhampton College and we hope we can help you find an alternative pathway below that fits your career goals:

Take the first step towards a rewarding career in plumbing and heating.

Plumbers play an essential role in keeping homes, businesses, and communities running smoothly, installing and maintaining the systems that provide clean water, heating, and waste removal. With skilled tradespeople always in demand, plumbing offers excellent opportunities for career development and long-term employment.

This practical Level 1 qualification is ideal for learners aged 16-19 who are interested in starting a career in the plumbing industry. You’ll develop a strong foundation of knowledge and practical skills in plumbing and heating mechanical services, while gaining hands-on experience in a workshop environment.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn about industry-standard tools, materials, and working practices, helping you build the confidence and skills needed to progress to higher-level qualifications, apprenticeships, or other routes into the sector. You’ll also develop an understanding of health and safety, teamwork, and professional behaviours that are essential for working in the construction industry.

Strong links with Employers
As part of your studies, you’ll benefit from our strong links with employers across the construction industry. These partnerships help keep our training relevant and up to date, giving you valuable insight into the sector through employer-led activities, guest speakers, work placement opportunities, and access to industry-standard materials and equipment. This helps you develop the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for progression into further training, apprenticeships, or employment.
