Are you passionate about construction or interested in working in the construction industry?
Are you keen to learn more about how you could earn a living working in the building services industry?
Do you not currently work in the building services industry but have a desire to become a fully qualified plumber?
Have you got previous work experience or completed a Level 1 plumbing or building services qualification?
If you have answered yes to these four questions then this is the course for you!
This course is perfect for anyone who has aspirations of becoming a plumber – whether you have recently left school or want to make a career change this course will prepare you to work in the industry and qualify you to work as a plumber’s mate within this industry.
This is a one year course which can be studied full-time or part-time.
Also, if you earn less than £32,000 per year and aged 19 or over, you could study this course for FREE!

Entry Requirements:
To access this course you are required to have:
- Level 1 plumbing qualification
- GCSE maths and English at grade C/4 or above
Applications from adults without the necessary qualification, but with relevant industry/work experience, will be considered on an individual basis.
What will I learn?
During this course you will study the following modules:
- Plumbing principles
- Cold and hot water systems
- Central heating
- Health and safety
What skills will I gain?
By studying this course you will:
- Develop your understanding of basic plumbing, electrical and refrigeration systems
- Learn the working principles
- Develop an appreciation for the range of knowledge and skills required to meet industry standards
- Develop your confidence in dealing with various practical tasks and theory applications
- Improve your skills
- Gain valuable team working and communication skills by taking part in group activities
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed on your practical skills and the knowledge you gain, by completing practical tasks and theory online multiple choice tests.
What can I do next?
The skills you will learn from this course will enable you to prgress to:
- Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing
- A plumbing apprenticeship
- Gain work as a plumber’s mate or improver
