This end-point assessment is designed for individuals who have completed training in injection moulding and are ready to demonstrate their competence in a practical setting. It’s suitable for technicians, setters, and engineers who want to validate their ability to work safely, efficiently, and to industry standards. During the assessment, you’ll be required to complete a full mould tool change, set machine parameters, start up and optimise production, and ensure all safety and quality requirements are met. This assessment provides formal recognition of your technical skills and readiness to perform confidently in a professional manufacturing environment.

This practical assessment has been designed to follow IMT2 & SMCP course attendance and is available at PTIC on dates which can be agreed through discussion.

Entry requirements:
Candidates should have been employed within an injection moulding environment for a period of no less than 2 years and have significant experience of the process requirements from a direct role within an Injection Moulding operation. This includes being involved in the routine tool changing, setting up and processing of existing production requirements. Ideally, candidates should have attended and passed the Injection Moulding Technology Level 2 course prior to attending the practical assessment.
