At 46, Andrew Hinchcliffe joined the Team Leader Apprenticeship at Budweiser Brewing Group UK to further his career in the industry he has worked in for over 20 years. Starting the course as a technician, he has already achieved promotion to Senior Technician for the North West during his training and is now focused on developing the leadership skills needed to take the next step in his career. 

Andrew said: 

 “I first chose to train in drinks dispense over 20 years ago because I wanted to learn how beer was poured in pubs. Budweiser put me forward for this course as I am trying to climb the ladder within drinks dispense. 

When I started the course, I was a technician, and I have recently become a senior technician for the North West. On a day-to-day basis I assist in the running of the North West team, completing surveys, carrying out quality checks, major installations and service jobs. 

The course I am currently on will help me manage my time and plan for the future within my field. The process I have learned will be most valuable while leading the team. My development within drinks dispense has come on leaps and bounds since I started the course, and gaining promotion while still on the course gave me a real sense of achievement. 

Once I have completed the course I would like to gain even more promotion within Budweiser. Becoming a Regional Operations Manager is my next focus. At Budweiser we aim for a future with more cheers.”
