For Kehinde Fanimo, training with NIS felt like the perfect next step to build on his background in electrical engineering and take his knowledge onto the track.
“This NIS course has been a brilliant opportunity for me. I have a degree in electrical engineering so I wanted to use this knowledge in the rail industry. I can’t wait to start working and climb the ladder within the rail sector. At first, I was a bit worried that I might struggle because of the language barrier, but these worries soon went away. I have had so much support from all the amazing tutors. Each trainer individually gave me a different experience, and along with my classmates, they have given me so much confidence.”
“Self-development means a lot to me, especially because it was challenging when I first came to the UK. Now, I can see a difference in myself and how I feel around others. I have built some great relationships with people in my class and we are all like one big family. It’s nice to have a solid group of friends on the course. NIS should continue doing what they’re doing because this is an incredible course and has some amazing advantages for people. It gives people a new start and gives people like me a chance.”
“I want to encourage people to not lose hope. Keep pushing, because one day it will all work out for you. I know it’s easy to put ourselves down or doubt our ability, but if you put your mind to it, work hard and believe in yourself, then you can achieve anything.”
