After working in a school kitchen for three years, Maria Chilton decided it was time to take the next step and pursue a career as a teaching assistant. Maria said: 

“Completing the Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification has given me so much confidence. I feel that my knowledge has grown significantly through everything I’ve learned on the course, and I particularly enjoyed the safeguarding unit. The course tutor has been amazing and incredibly supportive, which has really helped boost my confidence. 

“After completing Level 2, I’m excited to continue my studies and have enrolled on the Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. While studying, I am continuing my placement at Edward the Elder Primary School. This allows me to gain valuable experience in a school setting while preparing for a future teaching assistant role when a position becomes available.”
