After working as a welder for twenty years, Mark Freeman felt it was time for a change of scenery.
“In life, sometimes you have to go backwards in order to move forwards and this is exactly what I have done! I honestly never thought I would be in a classroom again but this is such an enjoyable experience. The group has such a good time together and our tutor, Keith, is incredible. He knows everything about the rail and has years of experience, which helps us to understand everything during our theory and practical sessions.”
“I was really craving a change and wanted to get out of the factory environment. I am so grateful to NIS because they gave me an opportunity I didn’t want to miss at a time when I was feeling completely lost. Now, I can genuinely say that I am in a much better headspace and feeling happy.”
“Years ago, a family member suggested I pursue a career on the rail and now I can finally say I have taken that advice. I can’t wait to see where it leads. I’m really buzzing to get working on the rail and I hope it all falls into place for me.”
“Don’t give up when life throws challenges at you. Don’t be scared to start again, even after years of being settled in one place. Do something for yourself and let the rest fall into place around you.”
