When Mikhai Perkin-Spencer received a text about the NIS course, he saw it as the perfect chance to get his foot in the door of the rail industry.
“I have always liked trains and had been interested in the rail industry for a while. I knew that I enjoyed hands-on work after training in carpentry, so that was important to me when choosing a career. I have been so impressed by the training on this course. I want to thank the trainers for teaching us so thoroughly and explaining everything so well. They all know the industry and pass that knowledge onto us.”
“Now, I am much more confident than a few weeks ago. I have learnt so much about the railway industry but I’ve gained lots of transferable skills too. My communication skills are better than ever and I have lots of general knowledge about working with machinery and tools.”
“The course is free, which is great for people who want extra qualifications but may be struggling financially. It’s been a great opportunity for me without a doubt, and I am really excited to see what happens next.”
“I would recommend training with NIS. The team, tutors and classmates make the course a great environment to thrive in. Everyone supports each other, so you will build lots of unexpected friendships.”
