Running 6.00pm – 9.00pm on a Tuesday or Thursday
If you have already gained your Level 1 bricklaying qualification and want to continue on your journey to becoming a bricklayer, this course will take your skills to the next level.
Construction Certificates are globally-recognised craft qualifications and are accepted in the construction industry.
Also, if you earn less than £32,000 per year and aged 19 or over, you could study this course for FREE!

Entry Requirements:
To access this course, you are required to have:
- Level 1 brickwork qualification
- Site experience would be considered – please specify experience at interview
- Commitment to learning, good attendance and punctuality
*Applications from adults without the necessary qualifications but with relevant industry experience will be considered on an individual basis.
What will I learn?
During this course you will study the following modules:
- Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers
- Interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures
- Construct cavity walling forming masonry structures
- Health, safety and welfare in construction
- Principles of building construction, information and communication
What skills will I gain?
By studying this course you will:
- Learn about bricklaying techniques in practical and theory sessions
- Find out about health and safety on construction sites and how important it is
- Improve your communication skills
- Learn about numeracy and literacy skills to prepare you for a life in construction
How will I be assessed?
Throughout the course you will be assessed in the following ways:
- Continual assessment and feedback from tutors
- Practical assessments
- Job-related multiple-choice questions at the end of each unit
- Online exams
To gain the diploma you must be successful in achieving all units and pass the synoptic practical tests.

The skills you will learn from this course will enable you to progress to:
- Employment in the construction industry
