Entry Requirements:
To access this course you are required to have:
- 5 x GCSE Grade 4 or above for English, Grade 5 or above for Maths.
- A record of high attendance from your previous studies
- You will be expected to maintain good attendance and punctuality, as well as show commitment, a positive attitude to learning, and determination to achieve the qualification.
What will I learn?
In the first year of the course you will study a range of core modules and in the second year will focus on occupational specialisms.
Core modules:
- Building services systems
- Construction and the built environment industry
- Health and safety
- Legislation, regulations and standards
- Tools, equipment and materials
- Technology
Occupational specialisms:
- Health and safety practices associated with carrying out electrotechnical systems engineering
- Installation methods and termination of connections
- The systems and products used in electrotechnical engineering
- How to analyse and use information to and from electrotechnical systems
- Removal processes as part of system decommissioning
- Testing and inspection process
- Fault finding
